Back by popular demand, Delmarva’s own JONES BOYS band has appeared throughout Delaware, Maryland and Virginia and has been together since January of 1992. This energetic group enjoys playing the current country hits as well as traditional country music. Darren Jones, the band’s leader, plays the keyboards along with keyboard bass while his brother, Brett, plays rhythm but can pitch in on drums or bass if needed. The two brothers have a unique harmony blend while providing the vocals for the band. Tom Kaufman is the lead guitarist but also plays pedal steel equally as well. Before the show is over, he can be counted on to give the audience a rousing rendition of The Orange Blossom Special on his fiddle.
Originally Darren and Brett’s father, Jim Jones, was a member of the band providing vocals as well as rhythm while Brett played the drums. Later Bobby Simmons joined the band as drummer and Brett now plays rhythm guitar.
This band appeared in Nashville and has opened for Hank Williams III and numerous fairs. The Jones Boys have performed onstage many times at the Harrington Raceway & Casino and with regular shows at clubs throughout Delmarva, they have acquired quite a following. Something that is special about this group is their ability to perform almost any country song that is requested and throughout the show, the audience is entertained by the band’s rendition of songs from artists such as George Jones to George Strait.
